The Magnolia images come mounted on EZMount. Remove the white paper backing and press to an acrylic mount.
For the large images you can use a Cuttlebug "B" plate as a mount.
USING OTHER ELEMENTS
Nestabilities or the Extra Giga (green) punches make perfect background shapes. The Tilda and Edwin sitting images can sit on the rim perfectly. Add flowers, ribbons and embellishments to your cards for texture and visual interest. Pop up images to add dimension.
We have ribbon sentiments especially designed to compliment some of the Magnolia images. For example for Tilda with the pie. muffin or holding a rolling pin images we have created a ribbon sentiment that reads "Baked with love". This was submitted by Nadine Cunha. If you have a favorite saying or maybe your children's names we are happy to do custom ribbons.
CRAFT TIPS
By adding a white dot on each cheek you draw the eye into the face. You can use a white paint pen or a small stylus and white paint. When coloring with Copic Markers you can use a white pencil to add highlights. Color with the marker *first*! Using a marker over colored pencil can damage the tip.

CUTTING OUT IMAGES FOR LAYERING
Creating a Magnolia scene involves masking or cutting out images after they have been colored. For cutting you can use a craft knife or fine pointed scissors. The trick to cutting out with scissors is to turn the paper NOT the scissors whenever possible. When using a craft knife people tend to use too much pressure.
You do not need white knuckle pressure just a very sharp blade! When you press too hard the knife blade drags because it is cutting too deep into the mat. You need to stay on the mat surface.
MASKING YOUR IMAGE
Let us create Tilda sitting on the kitchen bench. When masking you first stamp the image you want to appear on top. in our case we will stamp Tilda on the paper. Next stamp the same image on a post it note. Cut it out; this will be your mask. Place your mask over the stamped image. Press the mask in place, position the bench image in the right spot and stamp. Some of the bench will be stamped on the mask. Remove the mask and you will have Tilda sitting on the bench. Be sure to keep the mask.
